As this year comes to an end there is much to reflect on when it come to the world of Cannabis. 2016 was a very big year for the cannabis industry. From recreational use becoming legal in several more states to the many new regulations that have come into effect, it will be interesting to see what is to come in 2017.
In Canna-fusion’s home state of Oregon legalization went into effect a couple of years ago, however, there is still to date a lot of disarray when it come to regulations. And with federal laws in direct conflict with those in legalized states such as Oregon, it is hard to say where any of the state regulations truly stand. Many cannabis businesses, including Canna-fusion, have been directly affected, both positively and negatively, by the ever-changing canvas of legalized cannabis in todays world. While on one hand it is a blessing to see so many cannabis related businesses springing up and so many new products becoming more readily available to the masses, on the other hand it has not been an easy road for most, with many new businesses falling short due to regulatory issues.
Canna-fusion has come up against an array of problems including issues with labelling standards, licensing delays, processing facility regulations, and more. The recent scheduling of CBD as a schedule 1 substance by the federal government is another hang up that makes things very unclear for the year ahead. While everything still remains in this state of limbo many cannabis businesses will continue to push through in 2017. Amongst all of the uncertainties, there is still much progress being made within the industry and that is what keeps these businesses going. While it may be years before it all gets ironed out, those at the forefront of legalized cannabis now will surely pave the way for many future cannabis businesses. Despite all of the ups and down, Canna-fusion is proud to be a part of the movement in 2016 and beyond.
May 2017 bring about even greater positive change in this dynamic industry!
