Today my body feels great. It isn’t sore. But, it was a different story a couple days ago after my Monday workout. My shoulders were tight, sore, and angry. I regularly use Sore Muscle Relief cannabis salve for my overworked muscles. It works wonders.
“Cannabis-infused topicals are exceptional for sports recovery because, unlike topicals that use menthol and camphor, marijuana doesn’t trick your body into “looking the other way” from the source of the pain. Instead, the cannabinoid compounds found in the herb activate receptors in your skin at the spot of the injury. They work with your body to address the source of the problem without causing more discomfort,” reads “Here’s Why Athletes are Turning to Topical Cannabis,”an article published by Greenflowermedia.com.
Topical pain relief options are finding favor these days in young active people who don’t want to deal with the unwanted side-effects of your traditional oral pain relievers like aspirin and Tylenol. Many are opting for natural alternative options that work with the body in helping it to heal and recover quickly. They are looking for options that are effective, convenient, fast acting, long-lasting, and easy to use. Cannabis-infused topicals offer a satisfying solution.
From salves and lotions, to sprays and bath soaks, cannabis-infused products offer a holistic approach to healing and recovery for athletes.
Empirically speaking, I find cannabis-infused salves are very effective for decreasing the inflammation and tightness in my trapezius muscles after a good upper body work-out. The salve penetrates quickly into the muscle and helps it relax. Sometimes I will add a little heat which helps the salve penetrate even more. It does’t take much and it lasts several hours. It sure is a much healthier approach than taking oral pain medications which are detrimental to my stomach causing abdominal pain and ulcers.
I am pleasantly surprised at the healing effects of cannabis-infused salves and I am glad there are no psychoactive effects as my days can be very demanding and require clear thinking.
I just wish we had these cannabis-infused products available in our area. Looks like another DIY project to me!
